Turkmenistan, Ireland Discuss Opportunities to Expand Cooperation

Yazmurad Seryaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Ireland (residing in London), held a series of working meetings in Dublin on August 25–26, 2025, focused on expanding cooperation between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the visit, Ambassador Seryaev met with Ralph Victory, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, and presented copies of his credentials. The Irish official congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed readiness to support the fulfillment of his diplomatic mission.

On August 26, Ambassador Seryaev held talks with Fiona Nic Dhonnacha, Deputy Director for Political Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Colm Hayes, Director General of Global Ireland. The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in political and trade-economic spheres, as well as in renewable energy and education. The parties also exchanged views on collaboration within international organizations.

The ambassador briefed the Irish side on Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, which is aimed at strengthening friendly and equal partnerships with countries around the world, as well as on the country's economic development.

Turkmenistan and Ireland established diplomatic relations in October 2007.
