Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund Strengthens Cooperation with China

Oguljahan Atabaeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, led a Turkmen delegation on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. During the visit, she held a series of meetings with senior Chinese officials and representatives of charitable organizations, Turkmenistan’s official media reported on Sunday.

Atabaeva met with Chinese Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng, Vice Chairman of the National Health Commission Zeng Yixin, Chair of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation Li Bin, and Mayor of Shanghai Gong Zheng.

The meetings focused on opportunities for exchanging experience in modern education and healthcare programs, as well as the potential for collaboration on humanitarian initiatives. Key areas of discussion included inclusive education and child healthcare.

The Turkmen side expressed strong interest in China’s experience in supporting children with special needs, advanced methods of treatment and rehabilitation, and professional development programs for medical personnel.

As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation. The agreement outlines joint efforts in promoting child health, developing educational programs, and expanding humanitarian cooperation.

The delegation also visited several cultural and educational institutions in China, where members had the opportunity to explore innovative teaching and child development methodologies, along with learning more about Chinese national traditions.
