Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, took part in the commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II on Wednesday in Beijing, official Turkmen media reported.

A military parade was held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, featuring 26 world leaders, including the presidents of Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries. The parade symbolized China’s commitment to peace and respect for the memory of national heroes.

During the visit, Berdimuhamedov held talks with Xi Jinping focused on strengthening strategic cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, economy, and transportation.

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a package of bilateral agreements, which lay the groundwork for further development of the partnership.

President Berdimuhamedov also participated in the “SCO+” meeting, emphasizing Turkmenistan’s commitment to neutrality and the promotion of dialogue in the region.

After concluding the official visit program to the People’s Republic of China, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed Beijing International Airport on his way to Ashgabat, where he was seen off by officials of the friendly country.
