"Turkmenragatsany" agency will study the features of 5G technology, which has a data throughput 10 times higher than 4G.

The agency "Turkmenragatsany" will study the features and technical characteristics of 5G technology. This was stated at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on June 14.

According to the report of M. Chakyev, CEO of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, it is planned to introduce the most advanced technologies and modern solutions in the planned construction of "Ashgabat City". In this regard, it is advisable to study the features and technical characteristics of 5G technology, which provides reliable and stable connections, with data throughput up to 10 times higher than international practice, 4G technology. In this regard, a proposal was submitted to the Turkmen leader to conduct relevant work in this field by the "Turkmenatragsat" agency.

Commenting on the report, the President said that advanced digital technologies are being continuously implemented in the country, effective work is being carried out in the transition to the digital economy and its development, and these activities require further improvement. Noting that modern 5G technology is currently widely used abroad, the Turkmen leader supported this proposal and instructed the head of the agency to carry out relevant work on studying the capabilities and features of this technology.
