Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been awarded the highest state honor of the Republic of Uzbekistan — the Order of “Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik.” The award ceremony took place Monday in Tashkent, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said the decision reflects the sincere respect and recognition of the Uzbek people for Berdimuhamedov’s contributions to strengthening friendship, mutual trust, and strategic partnership between the two countries.

“You are honorably continuing the work of your father, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov,” Mirziyoyev said.

Mirziyoyev highlighted Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s role in deepening Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, particularly in trade and economic relations. Achievements cited include the launch of the Shavat-Dashoguz cross-border trade zone and the development of partnerships in energy, transport, and logistics.

President Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan’s leadership and people for the award and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening strategic ties between the two countries.

In April 2025, the same award was also presented to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
