On March 27, 2026, a meeting was held at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport between the leadership of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the Seaport administration and a delegation led by Charlotte Adrian, Head of the European Union (EU) Division for Central Asia and Afghanistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed the efficient utilization of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor's potential and the further strengthening of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport's strategic role in this direction.

The Turkmen side provided comprehensive information regarding the port's modern capacities, cargo routes, and state-of-the-art equipment of European manufacture installed at the facility. Furthermore, details were shared regarding ongoing projects at the "Balkan" Shipbuilding and Repairing Yard, international tenders for the construction of new vessels, and the country's consistent steps toward acceding to the IMO Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic (FAL).

It was specifically highlighted that new dredging vessels have been acquired to maintain the depth of navigation channels, and the construction of similar vessels is also being undertaken at the "Balkan" Shipbuilding and Repairing Yard itself. EU representative Charlotte Adrian highly commended the strategic importance of the Turkmenbashi Seaport at the crossroads of international transport corridors and emphasized the necessity of coordinated operations among all port services to further increase cargo flow.
