The maritime merchant fleet of Turkmenistan presented performance indicators for the first quarter of 2024. This was reported by the online publication “Orient”.

According to the report, the volume of cargo transportation carried out by the fleet in the first quarter of this year amounted to 586.5 thousand tons, which exceeds the same period last year by 14.1%. The cargo transportation plan for the first quarter was fulfilled by 133.3%.

Cargo turnover figures for the first three months amounted to more than 236 million ton-kilometers, which is 4.2% higher than last year’s cargo turnover. The cargo turnover plan was fulfilled by 188%. The passenger turnover plan was fulfilled by 355%. Passenger turnover amounted to 1.910 million passenger-kilometers. This figure increased by 44.5% compared to the same period last year. The growth rate of container transportation was 184.4% - 1,879 TEU containers were transported.
