Starting from July 2024, Georgian Airways opened a new cargo air service on the route Tbilisi - Meylan - Turkmenabat - Tbilisi. The press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Tbilisi reported this with reference to the international airport of Turkmenabad.

This step is aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

This route will complement the cargo air traffic operated by Geosky Georgian International Airlines since October 2023. Their flights are on the route Tbilisi - Zhengzhou - Turkmenabat - Zaragoza - Tbilisi.
