Turkmenistan proposed to start practical implementation of the Tourism Dialogue

On September 5, the first videoconference on the creation of the Tourism Dialogue was held. This was reported on the pages of the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper by Gulshad Bakiyeva, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department under the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the meeting was to create the Tourism Dialogue "Central Asia - the Republic of Korea".

The working meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the International Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea Jeong Indzhika and heads of tourism from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The participants considered such issues as the creation of sustainable tourism, the role of business in promoting tourism potential, as well as prospects for implementing an integrated approach to tourism development in Central Asia along the Great Silk Road.

Turkmenistan proposed to begin the practical implementation of the initiative to establish this Dialogue by creating a working group, drawing up real programs for tourism development, establishing meetings with the participation of representatives - experts from government agencies and the private sector, preparing joint tour packages that include historical monuments along the Great Silk Road of the Central Asian countries.

Promising plans and projects for developing partnership in the tourism sector within the framework of the Tourism Cooperation Dialogue will provide an opportunity to form a more attractive joint tourist flow from the Republic of Korea to Central Asia and back.

The meeting participants agreed to exchange information for the joint development of tourist packages related to cultural and educational, ecological, health, historical and business tourism.

“In this regard, we expect that Korean tour operators will be our important partners. For its part, Turkmenistan is ready to do all the necessary work to establish contacts between the tourism companies of our countries,” G. Bakiyeva notes.

We would like to remind you that there are currently more than 150 tourism companies operating in Turkmenistan, which closely cooperate with foreign partners from different countries.
