Industrial and social facilities for the transport and communications complex are being built in various parts of Turkmenistan, said Mammetkhan Chakyev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, during the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

As reported by the official media of Turkmenistan, Mammetan Chakyev noted that the growth rate of work performed and provision of services to the complex for January-April 2024 was 118 percent, and the growth rate of freight and passenger transportation by all types of vehicles was 103.5 and 102 .6 percent respectively.

According to the report, the growth rate for the provision of services in January-April for the Türkmendemirýollary agency reached 104.3 percent, the Türkmenawtoulaglary agency - 110.5 percent, the Türkmenhowaýollary agency - 161.2 percent, the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary agency - 114.8 percent, the Türkmenar agency agatnaşyk – 111, 9 percent.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to increase the volume of international cargo transportation through the effective use of the country’s transport and transit potential. The head of state also stated the importance of constant modernization of the material and technical equipment of the industry and gave corresponding instructions to the head of the department.

As part of its mission, the Türkmenaragatnaşyk agency operates in areas such as local and cellular communications, the Internet, postal services, digital economy, cybersecurity, satellite communications, national broadcasting and radio broadcasting, as well as training of specialists.
