The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, participated in the New Year celebrations held in Ashgabat, on the square in front of the "Älem" cultural and leisure center, near the country's main new Year tree. This was reported in the "Vatan" news program.

The youth of Turkmenistan greeted the Turkmen leader by reciting memorized poems. The main characters of the New Year, Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk, also expressed their festive greetings.

At the request of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Ayaz baba and Garpamyk, as well as the fish and snake, symbolizing the outgoing and new years, walked around the Main New Year Tree of the country with many happy children. Cheerful children, theater and circus performers presented creative performanses. On behalf of the Turkmen leader, lucky children were presented with New Year gifts.

Furthermore, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in a festive event organized in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with the participation of happy children on the occasion of the New Year.

Following the example of the Turkmen leader, members of the Government, heads of various levels, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries in Turkmenistan, as well as diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan abroad, together with their children, participated in this solemn event and shared the joy of happy children. Here, happy children, theater and circus performers, masters of art presented creative numbers. Performances of happy kids, pop singers, theaters and circuses, folk art and dance groups, children's creative collectives, and talented children of different ages were watched.

Employees of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater and the State Circus of Turkmenistan also performed in front of the audience. On the occasion of the New Year, a sweet cake was distributed to the participants of the event.
