The primary activity of the Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Plant is the repair and construction of marine structures. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the esteemed President, the economic development of our country, the expansion of the scale and potential of the transport system, in particular, the increase in the capacity of sea and river transport, and also thanks to the efforts of the shipbuilding industry, the joint construction of two dry cargo ships is in full swing.

On November 11, 2024, a significant milestone in shipbuilding was reached - the first blocks of the ships under construction were delivered to the construction site. This stage is proof of the high qualifications of the plant's specialists and the efficiency of the technologies used.

In this regard, on January 6, 2025, at the open joint-stock company "Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Plant," a keel-laying ceremony for the first ship took place. The event was attended by the management of the "Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Plant" and the plant's partner company, the president of the South Korean company "Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd." Choi Young Wook.

The keel-laying ceremony is a solemn event marking the beginning of the construction of a new ship. It is one of the most important stages in shipbuilding from ancient times to the present day.
