On January 21, 2025, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and representatives of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) led by Katja Schaefer. During the meeting, the state and prospects for further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UN-Habitat were discussed.

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan pays special attention to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 11. In this regard, the importance of adopting national programs that are consistent with the country’s commitments under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and serve as a key basis for the implementation of SDG 11 was noted.
