The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized a ceremonial event on Tuesday dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, announced at the initiative of Turkmenistan, along with the 30th anniversary of the country's neutrality, as reported by the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Ukraine.

Representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, library staff from Kyiv, university lecturers, students, journalists, and publishers participated in the event.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, Toyly Atayev, reminded attendees that the UN General Assembly supported Turkmenistan's initiative by declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. He emphasized the significance of the country's neutral status, its achievements on the international stage, and its successes in socio-economic development, including energy, transport, culture, medicine, and education.

The Ambassador also discussed UN resolutions adopted at Turkmenistan's initiative, such as "Central Asia – a Zone of Peace, Trust, and Cooperation," "Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia," and "Friendship Games of the United Nations." He said that the support of the global community inspires Turkmenistan to continue its active efforts to strengthen global peace.

The program included a reading of the poem by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov titled "Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust," speeches from diplomatic staff of the embassy, and musical performances. Turkmen melodies on the dutar, performed by Serdar Derekov, left a special impression.

The event featured exhibitions of Turkmenistan's national treasures, including traditional musical instruments, carpets, jewelry, paintings, and photographs.

The book exhibition showcased works by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, translated into Ukrainian, as well as the works of the poet Magtymguly Pyragy in various languages.

On the same day, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine held a presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, titled "Magtymguly – Thinker of the World."
