The transport and communications complex of Turkmenistan demonstrated growth dynamics

The general director of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammetkhan Chakyev, reported on the results of the activities of subordinate institutions for four months of this year. The electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports this.

Thus, in January–April 2024, the growth rate for work performed and services provided in the country’s transport and communications complex amounted to 118%, which is significantly higher than the production plan.

This figure for freight and passenger transportation on all types of transport is 103.5 and 102.6 percent, respectively. The growth rate of service provision for January-April for the Türkmendemirýollary agency reached 104.3 percent, the Türkmenawtoulaglary agency - 110.5 percent, the Türkmenhowaýollary agency - 161.2 percent, the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary agency - 114.8 percent, agency "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" - 111.9 percent.

Information was also provided on measures taken in accordance with the “Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019–2025.” Along with this, the progress of construction in various parts of the Fatherland of industrial and social facilities for the transport and communications complex was reported.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to increase the volume of international cargo transportation through the effective use of the country’s transport and transit potential. It is also necessary to constantly modernize the material and technical support of the industry, the head of state noted, addressing the head of the Agency with relevant instructions.
