On March 20, 2025, a meeting took place in the city of Arkadag between O. Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Elizabeth Rood, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan. The importance of the work carried out by the Fund in the development of international relations was emphasized at the meeting. Speaking about the work of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, O. Atabayeva noted that the humanitarian tasks are the priority for the Fund.

It was emphasized that based on these tasks, the work of the Fund, established upon the initiative of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has provided great support to children in need of restoring their health, including necessary medical surgeries.

It was noted that the work of the Charity Fund named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to provide necessary assistance and support to the children of neighboring countries, as well as partner states is becoming more extensive.

Ambassador Elizabeth Rood expressed her gratitude for detailed acquaintance with the activities of the Fund and emphasized that such work is commendable, as well as wished such activities to continue with further success.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that this year is the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Fund and events of international scope are planned in honor of this date. Various important issues were discussed in this regard.

As Elizabeth Rood noted, the United States of America supports the noble and humane work carried out by the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and emphasized the readiness to work together to advance it, including at the international scope. The diplomat expressed confidence that such work will contribute to further successful development and enrichment of relations between the two countries based on mutual goodwill.

In this regard, O. Atabayeva emphasized that the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted the usefulness of joint work of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with relevant structures, as well as with reputable international organizations, the UNICEF.

In this regard, the importance of the tasks outlined by the National Leader of Turkmen people in this vector was emphasized at the meeting, as well as confidence was expressed that their implementation will elevate the standing of the Fund on the international arena and contribute to strengthening of peace and humanistic principles inherent to the policy of permanent neutrality, advance friendship and brotherhood.

It was highlighted at the meeting that the implementation of this work in the current year, 2025 - the “International Year of Peace and Trust” gains special importance.
