Turkmenistan Attends Central Asia–GCC Ministerial Meeting in Kuwait

Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov visited Kuwait City on April 15–16, 2025, to participate in the third Central Asia–Gulf Cooperation Council (CA–GCC) Strategic Dialogue ministerial meeting, according to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.

The forum was attended by the heads of foreign ministries of the Central Asian countries and representatives of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

Participants discussed practical proposals to enhance cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, transport and logistics, environmental protection, tourism, and humanitarian exchanges.

The Turkmen delegation presented a number of relevant initiatives aimed at strengthening partnerships in the fields of transport and logistics, energy, the economy, and humanitarian cooperation.

As part of the visit, the Turkmen delegation held a meeting with the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Deputy Minister Gurbanov also held bilateral talks with the heads of the delegations from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman. The discussions focused on the current state of cooperation, priority areas for interaction, and the implementation of the Ashgabat Agreement on the establishment of an international transport and transit corridor between Iran, Oman, Qatar, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
