On April 21, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left on a friendly visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the Hazret Sultan International Airport of Turkestan city the distinguished guest was cordially welcomed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and other officials.

Within the framework of the visit to the friendly country, the National Leader of the Turkmen people visited the historical and cultural museum-reserve “Hazret-Sultan” in Turkestan.

Here the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the President of the friendly country were warmly welcomed and familiarised with the history of Turkestan city.

The National Leader of the Turkmen People and President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi during their acquaintance with the historical and cultural museum-reserve.

In the book “The Meaning of my Life” Hero-Arkadag writes: “In Medina - Mohammed, in Turkestan - Khoja Ahmed”, - so the beginning of Turkmen medieval Sufi literature is attributed to the revered philosopher, founder of the Yasawiya tariqat (Sufi order), who brought up thousands of followers Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. Khoja Ahmed Yasawi was nicknamed “the pir of Turkestan” and enjoyed great respect among prominent Sufis: he is known not only among the Turkmen people, but also in the entire Turkic world.

Then the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the head of the friendly state visited the national-cultural complex “Ethnoaul”.

Here, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev warmly welcomed the Kazakh folklore ensemble. The representative of the Complex familiarised the distinguished guests with the Kazakh yurt, folk household items, carpets, etc.

After acquaintance with the Ethnoaul National Cultural Complex, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev went to the Turkestan Visit Centre. The National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the friendly state were photographed on the way.

A video about Turkestan and historical exhibits were presented to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev at the Tourist Information Centre.

Information panels and multimedia equipment installed in the Turkestan Visit Centre provide detailed information on historical monuments, cultural events and tourist routes in Turkestan.

Then, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the friendly state visited the tourist complex “Karavansaray Turkistan”.

The complex is built on the motifs of oriental fairy tales. Here guests can familiarise themselves with the history, craftsmanship, culture and national sports of Turkestan.

In this regard, it is worth noting the great attention paid to the development of tourism in Turkmenistan: Avaza National Tourist Zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea is a clear result of the large-scale work carried out in this area.

Upon completion of acquaintance with the National Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Hazret-Sultan”, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev said goodbye to everyone and left the place of the event.
