The Honor Guard Battalion of Turkmenistan will participate in the Victory Day Parade, which will take place on May 9, 2025, in Moscow. The formal march of Turkmen soldiers on Red Square will continue the tradition, as they previously represented the country in the Victory Parades of 2010 and 2020, announced the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ivan Volynkin, in an interview with Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
In Turkmenistan, events dedicated to Victory Day are held at the official level. Concerts, thematic exhibitions, film screenings, and lectures are organized in Ashgabat and other cities, noted the diplomat.
The central event is the flower-laying ceremony at the Baky Şöhrat monument in the Halk hakydasy Memorial Complex. The ceremony is attended annually by the Turkmenistan’s leadership, diplomats, and members of the public. Veterans receive material support, gifts, and financial payouts.
In 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated as an honorary guest in the military parade in Moscow to mark the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
