Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held a meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, on Friday at the Kazan Kremlin, as reported by Minnikhanov’s press secretary, Liliya Galimova, on her Telegram channel.
Minnikhanov emphasized that National Leader of the Turkmen people Berdimuhamedov is a dear and welcome guest in Kazan, noting that relations between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan are based not only on partnership but also on friendship.
“Thank you for your attention to our cooperation. Turkmenistan is not only a partner but also a dear friend to us,” Minnikhanov wrote.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Kazan to participate in the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum.” During the forum, he proposed creating a unified energy, transport, and technology belt among Islamic countries — a modern analogue of the Great Silk Road. According to him, such a system could become a strategic bridge across Eurasia and a driver of economic growth in the region.
