Turkmenistan Attends Central Asia–India Business Council Meeting

Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov took part in the Central Asia–India Business Council meeting held on June 5 in New Delhi, where prospects for partnership in logistics, the digital economy, and investment were discussed, according to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.

Meredov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s interest in active engagement within the council and stressed the importance of building on the existing foundation of cooperation.

A key focus of the meeting was the development of modern infrastructure in Central Asia. In this context, Meredov highlighted the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline as a major energy project capable of enhancing regional connectivity.

The sides also reviewed investment opportunities tied to joint transport and logistics initiatives, including the development of the North–South corridor.

Participants expressed mutual interest in strengthening ties with India in innovative sectors such as high technology, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment by Central Asian countries and India to deepen practical cooperation across various sectors.
