The House of Models in Ashgabat hosted a fashion show of Turkmen national costumes this week, held as part of the city’s participation in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network in the field of design, according to Turkmen official media.

The event highlighted traditional Turkmen attire reimagined for the summer season. The collection featured contemporary interpretations of national garments, with contributions from local fashion models, textile artists, and embroidery specialists. All pieces were produced in Turkmenistan.

Ashgabat joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2021, joining other design-focused cities including Berlin, Mexico City and Glasgow. The program supports cultural development and creative industries around the world.
