Turkmenistan has officially opened a new oil loading pier at the Kenar Storage and Shipment Facility, which is part of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the commissioning of the facility during an online Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday. On the same day, a symbolic opening ceremony was held at the new pier, where honored elders cut the red ribbon, followed by the first shipment of products to a tanker, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.

The new facility was presented via video link by Guvanch Agajanov, chairman of the state concern Türkmennebit. According to Agajanov, the pier’s production capacity is 2.06 million tons for loading and 1.15 million tons for unloading oil and petroleum products per year. The chairman asked the head of state for his blessing to begin operations at the terminal.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov noted in his report that the launch of the new facility is part of efforts to modernize industry infrastructure and improve the efficiency of Türkmennebit’s operations. He expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for their continued support of the oil and gas sector.

President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the new capacity for boosting the country’s export potential and ensuring stable supplies of hydrocarbon resources.

The opening ceremony featured a festive program with performances by local creative groups.
