Employees of the International Port of Turkmenbashi represent Turkmenistan at the Regional Program in Kuala Lumpur

Two representatives of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport are participating in the Regional Maritime Capacity Building Program organized by Port Klang (PKA) with the support of the Malaysian Ministry of Transport. The program will be held in Kuala Lumpur from July 21 to 25, 2025 and will bring together 29 representatives from 15 countries of Central and South Asia, as well as the ASEAN region. The purpose of the program is to strengthen cooperation in the field of seaports, exchange scientific experience and develop the experience of Malaysia.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of Transport of Malaysia, Mr. Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah. During the five-day program, Malaysian experts will conduct consulting seminars on key areas such as port planning, intelligent logistics, cargo operations, conventions of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), principles of environmental, social and governance management (ESG) and digitalization initiatives.

This initiative reflects Malaysia's internationally recognized contribution to the development of maritime navigation and its support for this area, as well as Port Klang's position as one of the ten largest container ports in the world.

The participation of Turkmenistan's representatives in this program demonstrates our commitment to improving maritime experience and strengthening international cooperation in the field of maritime transportation.
