On June 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital network. It summarized the results of the activities carried out in the sectors of the economy in the five months of this year.

In the Mejlis, the CEO of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakiev, reported on the results of the activities carried out in the five months of this year in the systems under his control.

During the reporting period, the growth in works and services performed in this group was equal to 117.5 percent. In the five months of this year, the growth rate of cargo transportation by road, railway, air, sea and river transport was 105.9 percent, and the growth rate of passenger transportation was 102.9 percent. In the months of January and May, the growth in the performance of services was 104.8 percent in the "Turkmendemiryólary" agency, 111.4 percent in the "Turkmenavtoulaglary" agency, and 153 percent in the "Turkmenhowayolary" agency.

A growth rate of 115.8 percent was achieved by the agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" and 112.2 percent by the agency "Turkmenatragsin".

It was also discussed about the work carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Concept of the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan in 2019-2025. Along with this, a report was given on the construction of industrial and social facilities for the transport and communication complex in different parts of the country.

Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader emphasized the importance of constantly improving the work of the transport and communication complex in order to fully fulfill its tasks and gave specific instructions to the head of the agency in this regard.
