Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan overseeing the transport and communications sector, Mammetkhan Chakiyev, met on Monday in Ashgabat with a delegation from the UAE-based company Etihad Rail to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, according to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Turkmenistan.

The meeting was also attended by Turkmenistan’s Minister of Railway Transport, Mammet Akmammedov, and UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahmed Al-Hameli.

Etihad Rail is the national railway project of the United Arab Emirates, aimed at developing a modern, sustainable, and highly efficient transportation system connecting all seven emirates and extending beyond the country’s borders.

In May of this year, Turkmenistan and Etihad Rail explored prospects for deepening cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors, including the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
